Remote Keyless Entry Module Test
- Check fuse No. 17 in fuse block module. If fuse is not okay, replace faulty fuse. If fuse is okay, use a voltmeter to check for battery voltage at fuse No. 17 in fuse block. If battery voltage does not exist, repair open to power distribution center. If battery voltage exists, go to next step.
- Access the remote keyless entry module. See procedures in REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY MODULE R & I under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Disconnect module connector from module. Check connector and module receptacle for loose, corroded or damaged terminals. If any terminal is not okay, repair as required. If terminals are okay, go to next step.
- Using a voltmeter, check for battery voltage at module connector terminal No. 1 (Pink wire). If battery voltage does not exist, repair open Pink wire. If battery voltage exists, go to next step.
- Install a jumper wire between module connector terminals No. 1 and No. 3. If doors lock, go to step 6). If doors do not lock, go to next step.
- Remove jumper wire. Using an ohmmeter, check for continuity between module connector terminal No. 3 and lock relay terminal A3 (Orange/Violet wire). If no continuity exists, repair open Orange/Violet wire. If continuity exists, go to next step.
- Install a jumper wire between module connector terminals No. 1 and No. 4. If the doors fail to unlock, go to next step. If the doors unlock, go to step 8).
- Remove jumper wire. Using an ohmmeter, check for continuity between module connector terminal No. 4 and unlock relay terminal B3 (Pink/Violet wire). If no continuity exists, repair open Pink/Violet wire. If continuity exists, go to next step.
- Using an ohmmeter, check for continuity between module connector terminal No. 10 (Black wire) and ground. If no continuity exists, repair open Black wire. If continuity exists, go to next step.
- Turn ignition switch to ON position. Using a voltmeter, check for battery voltage at module connector terminal No. 1. If battery voltage does not exist, repair open Pink wire. If battery voltage exists, go to next step.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Connect module connector. Using a voltmeter, backprobe module connector terminal No. 12 (Yellow wire). Depress remote keyless entry transmitter unlock button. If battery voltage does not exist, replace faulty module
