Telltale Cluster
- If more than one indicator light in telltale area of cluster is inoperative, check appropriate fuse in fuse block module. See WIRING DIAGRAM
. If not okay, replace faulty fuse. If okay, go to next step.
- Turn ignition switch to ON position. Using a voltmeter, check for battery voltage at appropriate fuse in fuse block module. If battery voltage does not exist, repair open to battery. If battery voltage exists, go to next step.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove instrument cluster bezel and cluster assembly. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER
under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Disconnect telltale cluster connector.
- Connect battery negative cable. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Using a voltmeter, check for battery voltage at terminals No. 3, 4 and 14 of telltale cluster connector. See Fig 1
. If battery voltage does not exist, repair open in White/Black wire. If battery voltage exists, go to next step.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect negative battery cable. Using an ohmmeter, check for continuity between telltale cluster connector terminal No. 16 (Black wire) and chassis ground. If no continuity exists, repair open in Black wire. If continuity exists, replace faulty telltale cluster printed circuit board.
