Door Ajar Test 9A

  1. If problem is not with liftgate ajar switch and glass ajar switch (if equipped), go to DOOR AJAR TEST 9B. If problem is with liftgate ajar switch and glass ajar switch (if equipped), go to next step.
  2. Backprobe a jumper wire between terminal No. 1 (Tan/Black wire) on BCM Black 14-pin connector and ground. Do not disconnect BCM connector. BCM is located under left side of dash. Using scan tool, read liftgate ajar switch status. If scan tool displays LIFTGATE AJAR SWITCH: CLOSED, repair open in Tan/Black wire between BCM and liftgate/glass ajar switch splice. If scan tool does not display LIFTGATE AJAR SWITCH: CLOSED, replace BCM.
