Information Center Test 2A - Coolant Level Low Message
NOTE:
Perform INFORMATION CENTER TEST 1A
before proceeding. For connector terminal ID, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
and WIRING DIAGRAM and DOOR LOCKS - POWER & KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM
article. Perform TEST VER-1A
after each repair.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting any module connector. Ensure all connectors are clean and tight.
- Close all doors and clear information center messages. Monitor information center display. If COOLANT LEVEL LOW is displayed, go to next step. If COOLANT LEVEL LOW is not displayed, system is currently functioning correctly.
- Inspect coolant level. Adjust as needed. Disconnect coolant level switch. Cycle ignition key off, and then on. If information center displays COOLANT SENSOR BAD, replace coolant level switch. If scan tool does not display COOLANT SENSOR BAD, go to next step.
- Disconnect information center 20-pin connector. Using external ohmmeter, measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 1 (Pink/Black wire) on information center connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair Pink/Black wire for short to ground. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, replace information center.
