Information Center Test 7A - Washer Sensor Bad Message
NOTE:
Perform INFORMATION CENTER TEST 1A
before proceeding. For connector terminal ID, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
and WIRING DIAGRAM and DOOR LOCKS - POWER & KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM
article. Perform TEST VER-1A
after each repair.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting any module connector. Ensure all connectors are clean and tight.
- Close all doors and clear information center messages. Monitor information center display. If WASHER SENSOR BAD is not displayed, system is currently functioning correctly. If WASHER SENSOR BAD is displayed, go to next step.
- Disconnect washer fluid level switch connector. Using ohmmeter, measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 2 (Black wire) on washer fluid level switch connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open Black wire.
- Connect jumper wire between washer fluid level switch connector terminals. Cycle ignition off, then on. If WASHER LEVEL LOW is not displayed, go to next step. If WASHER LEVEL LOW is displayed, replace washer fluid level switch.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect information center 20-pin connector. Using external ohmmeter, measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 13 (Black/Tan wire) on information center connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace information center. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open Black/Tan wire.
