Test 12F - Bus Short To Battery
- Using external ohmmeter, measure resistance between terminals No. 12 (Brown/Tan wire) and No. 19 (Violet/Brown wire) on Body Control Module (BCM) Black connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short between Brown/Tan wire and Violet/Brown wire. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, go to next step.
- Measure resistance between terminals No. 12 (Brown/Tan wire) and No. 20 (White/Black wire) on Body Control Module (BCM) Black connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short between Brown/Tan wire and White/Black wire. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, go to next step.
- Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, measure resistance at terminal No. 16 (Black/Orange wire) on BCM Black connector. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open Black/Orange wire. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step.
- Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, measure resistance at terminal No. 2 (Light Green/White wire) on BCM Black connector. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open Light Green/White wire. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace BCM.
NOTE:
For connector terminal ID, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
and WIRING DIAGRAM. Perform VERIFICATION TEST VER-1 after each repair.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting any module connector.
