Windshield Wiper Test 2A - Repairing Open Intermittent Wiper Relay Circuit
NOTE:
Perform POWER WINDOW TEST 1A
before proceeding. For connector terminal ID, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
and WIRING DIAGRAM and WIPER/WASHER SYSTEM
article. Perform TEST VER-1A
after each repair.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting any module connector. Ensure all connectors are clean and tight.
- Remove intermittent wiper relay. Wiper relay is located in power distribution center. Power distribution center is located in engine compartment. Using an ohmmeter, measure resistance between component terminals No. 85 and 86 on wiper relay. See Figure under ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM TEST 4A. If resistance is not 65-85 ohms, replace wiper relay. If resistance is 65-85 ohms, go to next step.
- Connect a jumper wire between terminal No. 85 (Yellow/Light Green Wire) on wiper relay connector and ground. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) White 24-pin connector. Using an ohmmeter, measure resistance between terminal No. 23 (Yellow/Light Green wire) on BCM White 24-pin connector and ground. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace BCM. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Yellow/Light Green wire.
