CMTC Test 6A - CMTC Button Problems

NOTE: Perform CMTC TEST 1A  before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal ID, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  and WIRING DIAGRAM. Perform TEST VER-1A  after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting any module connector. Ensure all connectors are clean and tight.
  1. Turn ignition off. Access CMTC button assembly. Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, backprobe terminal No. 2 on button assembly connector. See Fig 1 . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace button assembly. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, go to next step.
  2. Press and hold STEP button. Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, backprobe terminal No. 2 on button assembly connector. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, replace button assembly. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step.
  3. Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, backprobe terminal No. 3 on button assembly connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace button assembly. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, go to next step.
  4. Press US/M button. Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, backprobe terminal No. 3 on button assembly connector. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, replace button assembly. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace CMTC module.
