NOTE: Perform SYMPTOM ID TEST 1A  before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal ID, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  and WIRING DIAGRAM and SEATS - POWER article. Perform TEST VER-3A  after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting any module connector. Ensure all connectors are clean and tight.
  1. Using scan tool, select MEMORY SEAT MODULE, then SENSORS. If scan tool displays 0.0 or 5.0 volts on any sensor, go to MEMORY SEAT TEST 6B  . If scan tool does not display 0.0 or 5.0 volts on any sensor, go to next step.
NOTE: In the following steps, actuator will cycle on and off. Allow actuation to continue for 3 actuations after seat stops moving. Perform actuator test outside vehicle.
  2. Using scan tool, select ACTUATORS. Actuate FRONT RISER UP RLY and then FRONT RISER DN RLY. If memory seats do not move when actuated, replace memory seat module. If memory seats move when actuated, go to next step.
  3. Using scan tool, select the following positions in order given: REAR RISER UP RLY and then REAR RISER DN RLY, HORIZ FWD RLY and then HORIZ BACK RLY, RECLINER FWD RLY and then RECLINER BACK RLY, LUMBAR FWD RLY and then LUMBAR BACK RLY, MISC., LEARN SEAT LIMITS. After selecting MISC., LEARN SEAT LIMITS, follow instructions on scan tool, and go to next step.
  4. Turn ignition off. Close all doors. Allow Body Control Module (BCM) to time out for about 40 seconds. After 40 seconds, turn ignition on. Using scan tool, erase all diagnostic trouble codes. Go to next step.

  7. Using scan tool, select MONITOR DISPLAY, then RISER MONITOR. Using front riser switch, move seat to up and down stops. If front riser position sensor voltage is not 0-.02 volts, go to MEMORY SEAT TEST 6B  . If front riser position sensor voltage is 0-.02 volts, go to next step.
  8. Using rear riser switch, move seat to up and down stops. If rear riser position sensor voltage is not 0-.02 volt, go to MEMORY SEAT TEST 6B  . If rear riser position sensor voltage is 0-.02 volt, go to next step.
  9. Using scan tool, select HORIZONTAL display. Using horizontal switch, move seat to front and rear stops. If horizontal position sensor voltage is not 0-.02 volt, go to MEMORY SEAT TEST 6B  . If horizontal position sensor voltage is 0-.02 volts, go to next step.
  10. Using scan tool, select RECLINER display. Using recliner switch, move seat to up and down stops. If recliner position sensor voltage is not 0-.02 volt, go to MEMORY SEAT TEST 6B  . If recliner position sensor voltage is 0-.02 volts, go to next step.
  11. Using scan tool, select LUMBAR display. Using lumbar switch, move seat to up and down stops. If lumbar position sensor voltage is not 0-.02 volt, go to MEMORY SEAT TEST 6B  . If lumbar position sensor voltage is 0-.02 volts, replace memory seat module.
