  1. Disconnect ambient temperature sensor. Sensor is located on right side of front grille, next to headlight. Connect a jumper wire between sensor connector terminals. Turn ignition on and close all doors. Monitor Electronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC) display. If EVIC does not display SHORT CIRCUIT, go to next step. If EVIC displays SHORT CIRCUIT, replace ambient temperature sensor.
  2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) connector C2. See Figure. Using DVOM, measure resistance of Dark Green/Red wire between BCM connector C2 terminal No. 9 and ambient temperature sensor connector terminal No. 2. See Figure. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open in Dark Green/Red wire. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  3. Using DVOM, measure resistance of Dark Blue/Orange wire between BCM connector C2 terminal No. 20 and ambient temperature sensor connector terminal No. 1. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open in Dark Blue/Orange wire. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  4. Replace BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
