Remote Keyless Entry Transmitter

  1. Replace transmitter batteries. See REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY TRANSMITTER BATTERY  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Test transmitter function. If all functions operate, test is complete. If any functions are inoperative, go to next step.
  2. Using Diagnostic Readout Box (DRBIII®) scan tool, perform transmitter program procedure using suspect transmitter and a known-good test transmitter. See PROGRAMMING REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY (RKE) TRANSMITTER  under PROGRAMMING. If test transmitter operates power door locks and suspect unit does not, replace faulty transmitter and go to next step. If both transmitters fail to operate power door locks, see REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY MODULE  under SYSTEM TESTS.
  3. Using DRBIII® scan tool, perform transmitter program procedure after test is complete. This will erase access code of test transmitter from Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) module.
