Low Coolant Indicator On All The Time

  1. Check coolant fluid level. Fill as necessary. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS. If coolant fluid level is okay, go to next step.
  2. Disconnect coolant level switch connector. Coolant fluid level sensor is located on coolant fluid reservoir in right rear of engine compartment. Using scan tool, read COOLANT LEVEL SW voltage. If voltage is less than 4.8 volts, go to next step. If voltage is greater than 4.8 volts, replace coolant level switch. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  3. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) C2 connector. See Figure . Using DVOM, measure resistance between ground and coolant level switch connector (Pink/Black wire). If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Pink/Black wire. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  4. Replace BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
