- Turn ignition off. Disconnect left multifunction switch connector. Connect a jumper wire between left multifunction switch connector terminals No. 4 (White/Dark Green wire) and No. 10 (Red wire). See Figure . Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, select SENSORS. Read panel lamps voltage. If panel lamps voltage is less than .5 volt, replace left multifunction switch. See appropriate STEERING COLUMN SWITCHES article. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST under VERIFICATION TESTS. If panel lamps voltage is greater than .5 volt, go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Remove jumper wire. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) C1 connector. Using DVOM, measure resistance of Red wire between BCM C1 connector terminal No. 3 on and left multifunction switch connector terminal No. 10. See Figure and Figure . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open in Red wire between BCM and left multifunction switch. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST under VERIFICATION TESTS.
- Using DVOM, measure resistance of White/Dark Green wire between BCM C1 connector terminal No. 16 and left multifunction switch connector terminal No. 4. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open in White/Dark Green wire. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST under VERIFICATION TESTS.
- Replace BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST under VERIFICATION TESTS.
