Removal & Installation

  1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable. Remove the steering column opening cover from the instrument panel. Disconnect the instrument panel wire harness connector from the SKIM connector.
  2. Remove the screw that secures the SKIM to the bottom of the steering column housing. Disengage the antenna ring of the SKIM from around the ignition lock cylinder housing. Remove the SKIM from the steering column.
  3. To install, position the SKIM to the underside of the steering column. Engage the antenna ring of the SKIM around the ignition lock cylinder housing. Install and tighten the screw that secures the SKIM to the bottom of the steering column housing.
  4. Reconnect the instrument panel wire harness connector to the SKIM connector. Reinstall the steering column opening cover onto the instrument panel. Reconnect the battery, negative cable.
  5. Perform the SKIS Replacement procedure and SKIS Initialization Procedure. See SENTRY KEY IMMOBILIZER MODULE  under PROGRAMMING.
