Removal & Installation (Grand Cherokee)

  1. Locate PCM in right rear corner of engine compartment. See Fig 1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove Transmission Control Module (TCM), if equipped. Remove coolant reserve/overflow tank.
  2. Remove cover for access to PCM connectors. Cover snaps to connectors. Carefully disconnect PCM connectors. Remove 3 PCM/bracket-to-body mounting nuts. See Fig 2. Remove PCM/bracket assembly from vehicle. Remove PCM retaining bolts and separate PCM from mounting bracket. See Fig 3.
  3. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten PCM retaining bolts/nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
