Test C: Pedal Sensor Shorted To Ground: Testing

  1. With the DRBIII(R), erase DTC's. With the DRBIII(R), read DTC's. Does the DRBIII(R) display PEDAL SENSOR SHORTED TO GROUND DTC active? If yes, go to next step. If no, go to step  3 .
  2. Disconnect the adjustable pedals motor/sensor harness connector. Turn the ignition on. With the DRBIII(R), read the active DTCs. Does the DRBIII(R) display SENSOR WIRING SHORTED TO GROUND? If yes, inspect for and correct wiring damage. If no damage is found, replace and program the adjustable pedals module. See ADJUSTABLE PEDAL MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Perform ADJUSTABLE PEDAL VERIFICATION TEST VER 1  . If no, repair any motor/sensor assembly wiring concerns. If no wiring concerns are found, replace the adjustable pedals motor/sensor assembly. See ADJUSTABLE PEDAL ASSEMBLY  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Perform ADJUSTABLE PEDAL VERIFICATION TEST VER 1  .
  3. Turn the ignition off. Visually inspect the related wiring harness. Look for any chafed, pierced, pinched, or partially broken wires. Visually inspect the related wire harness connectors. Look for broken, bent, pushed out, or corroded terminals. Check for technical service bulletins. Were any problems found? If yes, repair as necessary. Perform ADJUSTABLE PEDAL VERIFICATION TEST VER 1  . If no, test is complete.
