Control Circuit Testing

The starter control circuit components should be tested in the order in which they are listed, as follows:

• Starter Relay - See STARTER RELAY  under COMPONENT TESTING.
• Starter Solenoid - See STARTER MOTOR  under COMPONENT TESTING.
• Ignition Switch - See appropriate STEERING COLUMN SWITCHES article in ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT.
• Park/Neutral Position Switch: For:
  • 2003 see PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH under ADJUSTMENTS in SERVICING article in AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS.
  • 2004, see PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH under ADJUSTMENTS in SERVICING article in AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS.
