Latch/Guide Plate: Removal

Remove the liftgate insulator pad. (Refer to LIFTGATE INSULATOR PAD )
Remove the three bolts attaching the latch and guide plate to the liftgate. (Fig 1 )

Remove the latch.
Squeeze the cable retainer clips and remove the cable housing from the latch assembly. (Fig 2 )

Disconnect the latch cable from the latch lever and remove the cable.
