Toe-In Adjustment

NOTE: If vehicle is equipped with power steering, engine must be running during entire toe-in adjustment procedure.
NOTE: In the following procedure, number in parenthesis refers to numbers in illustration.

Apply parking brakes. Start the engine and turn wheels both ways before straightening the steering wheel. Center and secure the steering wheel. Loosen the tie rod adjustment sleeve (2) clamp bolts. Turn the sleeve to obtain the preferred positive toe-in specification. See ALIGNMENT SPECIFICATIONS  . Position the clamp bolts as shown for proper clearance. See Fig 1 . Tighten the clamp bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  . Ensure the toe setting does not change during clamp tightening. Verify alignment specifications, then turn the engine off.
