Diagnosis And Testing - Memory Heated Seat/Mirror Module

Visually inspect the related wiring harness connectors. Look for broken, bent, pushed out, or corroded terminals. If any of the above conditions are present, repair as necessary. If not proceed as follows:

  1. Using a voltmeter and Wiring schematic, verify proper voltage at the heated seat module. If OK go to Step 2, If not OK check fuses and repair the open or shorted voltage supply circuit as required.
  2. Using a ohmmeter and Wiring schematic, verify proper ground connections at the heated seat module. If OK go to Step 3, If not OK repair the open or shorted ground circuit as required.
  3. Test the appropriate Heated Seat switch. Refer to the procedure in Heated Seat System. If OK go to Step 4, If not OK replace the heated seat switch and re-test system.
  4. Test the appropriate Heated Seat Element. Refer to the procedure in Heated Seat System. If OK go to Step 5, If not OK replace the heated seat element and re-test system.
  5. Test the appropriate Heated Seat Sensor. Refer to the procedure in Heated Seat System. If OK, Use a DRBIII(R) scan tool and the proper Diagnostic Procedures Manual to test the system. If not OK replace the heated seat sensor and re-test system.
