Module-Remote Compass: Installation

  1. Position the Remote Compass Module (RCM) (2) into the bracket on the upper side of the headliner (1).
  2. Install the RCM retaining screws (4).
  3. Connect the electrical connector (3).
  4. Install the headliner assembly, (Refer to BODY/INTERIOR/HEADLINER - INSTALLATION) .
  5. Connect the battery negative cable.
  6. Perform the Compass Variation Adjustment, (Refer to ELECTRICAL/OVERHEAD CONSOLE/ELECTRONIC VEHICLE INFO CENTER - STANDARD PROCEDURE - COMPASS VARIATION ADJUSTMENT) .
  7. Perform the Compass Calibration, (Refer to ELECTRICAL/OVERHEAD CONSOLE/ELECTRONIC VEHICLE INFO CENTER - STANDARD PROCEDURE - COMPASS CALIBRATION) .
  8. Verify proper compass operation.
