Sensor-Fuel Temperature: Installation

1 - LOW PRESSURE FUEL SUPPLY
2 - RETURN FUEL
3 - HIGH PRESSURE SUPPLY TO FUEL RAIL
4 - FUEL TEMPERATURE SENSOR
5 - FUEL QUANTITY SOLENOID
6 - HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP
  1. Clean sealing surfaces.
  2. Install new seal on sensor.
  3. Screw the sensor into the high pressure pump and tighten to 25 N.m (18 lbs.ft.). See Fig 1.
  4. Connect the temperature sensor wiring harness connector.
  5. Connect the fuel quantity solenoid wiring harness connector.
  6. Connect negative battery cable.
  7. Start engine, allow to warm, shut engine off and inspect for leaks (Refer to WARNING - HIGH FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE - DIESEL ).
