Module-Fuel Pump: Removal

- Drain and remove fuel tank. See STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Note rotational position of pump module before attempting removal. An indexing arrow (4) is located on top of module for this purpose.
- Disconnect pigtail harness connector (2) at pump module (7).
- Disconnect fittings (3) and (6) from pump module. See STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Position Lock Ring Remover/Installer 9340 (3) into notches on outside edge of lock ring (5).
- Install 1/2 inch drive breaker bar (1) to tool 9340 (3).
- Rotate breaker bar counter-clockwise to remove lock ring.
- Remove lock ring. The module will spring up slightly when lock ring is removed.
- Remove module from fuel tank. Be careful not to bend float arm while removing.
