MODULE, Engine Control, Diesel: Removal: Removal

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the glow plug relay from the engine control module mounting bracket (3) and position the relay aside.
  3. Disconnect the positive battery cable from the Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM), remove the TIPM from the mounting bracket and position the TIPM aside. Refer to Electrical/Power Distribution/MODULE, Totally Integrated Power (TIPM) - Removal .
  4. Disconnect the two electrical connectors (1) from the engine control module (4).
  5. Remove the two nuts or screws (5) that secure the engine control module bracket to the fender (2).
  6. Remove the engine control module and bracket as an assembly from the vehicle.
  7. If required, remove the engine control module from the bracket.
