Arm, Pitman: Installation: Installation
- Align and install the pitman arm (2) on steering gear shaft.
- Install the washer and nut (3) on the shaft and tighten the nut to 265 N.m (195 ft. lbs.).
- Install drag link ball stud to pitman arm, install nut and tighten to 105 N.m (77 ft. lbs.).
NOTE:
It may be necessary to pry the axle assembly over to install the track bar (1) at the frame rail.
- Position the track bar (1) at the axle bracket, install the nut and bolt (2) at the frame rail bracket and tighten to 169 N.m (125 ft. lbs.).
- Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
- Fill power steering system to proper level. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Check the toe setting. Refer to WHEEL ALIGNMENT, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
