Diagnostic Test

- VERIFICATION TEST
- Remove any special tools or jumper wires and reconnect all previously disconnected components - except the battery.WARNING:
Turn the ignition on, then reconnect the 12-volt battery and wait two minutes before proceeding. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.
- Connect the scan tool to the Data Link Connector - use the most current software available.
- With the scan tool to erase stored DTCs in the Occupant Classification Module (OCM) DTCs.
- Turn the ignition off, and wait 1-5 seconds, then turn the ignition on.
- Wait one minute, using the scan tool read active OCM DTCs and if there are none present read the stored codes.
- If the scan tool shows any active or stored codes, follow path specified for that trouble code. If no active or stored codes are present, the repair is complete.
Are any DTCs present or is the original condition still present?
Yes
- Repair is not complete. Refer to DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING and perform the appropriate diagnostic procedure.
No
- If the battery was disconnected for any reason, you must refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE and perform the Battery Reconnection procedure.
- Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE and perform the AIRBAG VERIFICATION TEST.
- Remove any special tools or jumper wires and reconnect all previously disconnected components - except the battery.
