3.0L Diesel
CAUTION:
Care must be used when trying to remove the upper and lower shroud covers. Damaging the holes in the cover may cause it to become loose and not perform properly.
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
- Remove the engine cover (1).
- Loosen the clamps (2) and remove the Charge Air Cooler (CAC) hose from the resonator and position aside the hoses.
- Remove the bolts (1) and the resonator and bracket as an assembly.
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Remove the front skid plate. Refer to PLATE, SKID, TRANSFER CASE, REMOVAL
.
- Remove the lower cooling fan closeout panel (1).
- Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
- Remove the upper fan shroud cover (1) by using a pick (3) to pull the cover retaining hole away from the clip (2).
- Disconnect the cooling fan wire harness connector (1).
- Release both retaining tabs (1) and pull up to remove the cooling fan assembly from the top side of the engine compartment.
