Electronic Display Unit

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2017 Jeep Cherokee. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

An electronic display unit is a standard factory-installed feature in every IPC. The odometer and trip odometer as well as many other indicators are displayed in the electronic display unit. This display unit is soldered onto the IPC electronic circuit board. There are two distinct versions of the IPC offered in this vehicle: Base and Premium. The primary distinction between these two versions lies in the size and type of display used. The Base IPC has a color, 3.5 inch, Thin Film Transistor (TFT) display unit. Meanwhile, the Premium IPC has a color, 7 inch, TFT display unit.

During daylight hours (exterior lamps are OFF) the electronic display unit is illuminated at full brightness for clear visibility. At night (exterior lamps are ON), the electronic display unit lighting level is adjusted with the other cluster general illumination lamps using the panel lamps dimmer module. However, a PARADE mode position of the dimmer allows the display to be illuminated at full brightness if the exterior lamps are turned ON during daylight hours.
