Module, Keyless Ignition Node (Kin): Removal

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the lower steering column opening trim. Refer to COVER, STEERING COLUMN OPENING, REMOVAL .
  3. Remove the radio. Refer to RADIO, REMOVAL .

  4. Remove the three screws (1) that retain the ignition node module bracket to the inside of the lower instrument trim panel.
  5. Disconnect the harness connector from the back (2) of the ignition node.

  6. Remove the ignition node (3) with bracket (1). Note that four screws (2) secure the node to the bracket.

  7. Remove four screws (1) to separate the ignition node (3) from the ignition node bracket (2).
