Module, Powertrain Control (Pcm): Installation: Diesel

- Check pin connectors in Powertrain Control Module (PCM) and the wire harness connectors for corrosion or damage. Also check pin heights in connectors. Pin heights should all be the same. Repair as necessary before installing harness connectors.
- Install the PCM (1) and securely tighten bolts (2), nut (3).
- Connect the PCM wire harness connector (1).
- Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector to the negative battery cable.
- Use a diagnostic scan tool to program new PCM with vehicles original Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and original vehicle mileage. Refer to MODULE PROGRAMMING .
NOTE:
If this Electronic Control Unit (ECU) is being replaced with a new unit, a diagnostic scan tool MUST be used to align the PROXI configuration data into the new ECU. Follow the routine outlined in the diagnostic scan tool for PROXI Configuration Alignment under Body Control Module (BCM) Miscellaneous Functions menu.
