Module, Ignition Node: Removal

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the steering column opening cover. Refer to COVER, STEERING COLUMN OPENING, REMOVAL .
  3. Remove the radio. Refer to RADIO, REMOVAL .

  4. Remove the three screws (1) that retain the IGnition Node Module (IGNM) bracket (2) to the inside of the lower instrument trim panel.
  5. Disconnect the instrument panel wire harness connector from the back of the IGNM (3).

  6. Remove the IGNM (3) with bracket (2). Note that four screws (1) secure the IGNM to the bracket.

  7. Remove four screws (1) to separate the IGNM (3) from the IGNM bracket (2).
