Module, Keyless Ignition Node (Kin): Installation

  1. Assemble the ignition node (3) to the ignition node bracket (2). Tighten using four screws (1).

  2. Position and tighten (1) the ignition node and bracket to the back of the lower instrument panel trim bezel.
  3. Connect the wiring harness connector to the connector receptacle (2) on the back of the ignition node.
  4. Install the radio. Refer to RADIO, INSTALLATION .
  5. Install the center dash trim bezel.
  6. Install the lower steering column opening trim panel. Refer to COVER, STEERING COLUMN OPENING, INSTALLATION .
  7. Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector to the negative battery cable.
  8. If the KIN is being replaced, perform the verification test. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
    NOTE:

    This procedure will require you to log into DealerCONNECT and enter a PIN when requested. The PIN is temporary and will be active for 12 hours. After 12 hours, a new PIN will need to be obtained from DealerCONNECT.
