Module, Power Top Control, Full Open Retractable Roof (PTCM): Operation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2017 Jeep Cherokee. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

This vehicle is available with the Full Open Retractable Roof (FORR) option. Marketed as Sky Slider™, the unit is made of reinforced acrylic cloth, similar to a convertible top. The FORR system receives battery feed through the "sunroof" relay and a 25 amp mini fuse located in the Power Distribution Center (PDC). The FORR system power is supplied when the ignition switch is in the RUN and ACCESSORY positions. The sunroof will operate normally with the key in any position while the Accessory Delay system is active.

The FORR utilizes a single Electronic Control Unit (ECU) (sometimes referred to as the Power Top Control Module) to control the movement of the power top. The ECU sends a reference voltage to and receives inputs back from the power top switch via a hardwired connection. The ECU responds to the switch input by controlling one or both of the power top motors via a hardwired connection.

The ECU is a new non-CAN based sunroof module unique to the KL SkySlider
