Module, Power Liftgate Control (PLGM): Installation

NOTE:
The foam water shield is a one time use component. When removing the foam water shield, discard and replace it with new.
- Connect the two electrical connectors to the PLGM.
- Position the PLGM (3) into the new foam water shield (2).
- Route the harness (1) properly through the harness opening of the foam water shield.
- Wipe the PLGM mounting panel with an alcohol wipe to ensure that there is no dirt or oil on the panel.
- Align and secure the module with the foam water shield to the body panel mounting panel tabs.
- Install the rear cargo load floor. Refer to LOAD FLOOR, CARGO, INSTALLATION .
- Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector to the negative battery cable.
- Perform the power liftage teach procedure. Refer to MODULE, POWER LIFTGATE CONTROL (PLGM), MODULE PROGRAMMING .
NOTE:
If this Electronic Control Unit (ECU) is being replaced with a new unit, a diagnostic scan tool MUST be used to determine if alignment of the PROXI configuration data into the new ECU is needed. If PROXI alignment is needed, follow the routine outlined in the diagnostic scan tool for PROXI Configuration Alignment under the Body Control Module (BCM) Miscellaneous Functions menu.
