Removal And Installation: Installation
- Position the shifter cables through the floor pan and install NEW nuts (1) to the proper specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
- Engage the selection and gear cables to the retaining clips (2).
- Place the exhaust heat shield in position.
- Using a suitable tool, to install the rivets (1) securing the exhaust heat shield to the floor pan.
- Install the clips (1) attaching the exhaust silencer heat shield to the floor pan.
- If equipped, install the rear propeller shaft. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Install the belly pan. Refer to BELLY PAN, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Lower the vehicle.
- Install the gear shifter cable from the bracket by pulling back on the locking collar (1) and lifting the cable out of the bracket.
- Install the gear selector cable from the bracket by pulling back on the locking collar (2) and lifting the cable out of the bracket.
- Engage the gear selector cable to the transmission lever.
- Engage the gear selector cable to the transmission lever.
- Engage the ends of the cables to the control lever of the shifter.
- Firmly press the lock button (1) of the "quick adjuster" device at the shifter end of the selector cable.
- Do the same for the lock button "quick adjuster" device for the shift cable.
- Remove the pin locking device at the transmission.
- Remove the locking pin at the shifter.
- Check the gear shifter operation.
- Install the floor console. Refer to CONSOLE, FLOOR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Install the battery tray. Refer to TRAY, BATTERY, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
