Integrated Center Stack Module
DESCRIPTION
The Integrated Center Stack (ICS) Module (1) is located in the lower center stack.
This ICS module is available in multiple configurations, which vary depending upon the equipment in the vehicle.
The switch housing and the push buttons are constructed of molded plastic. Each push button has a smooth finish and is clearly identified with the appropriate text and International Control and Display Symbol icons. Several of the push buttons feature Light Emitting Diode (LED) units to give the vehicle operator an indication when the function of that switch is currently active. The back of the switch housing has an integral connector receptacle containing terminal pins that connect the switch to the vehicle electrical system through a dedicated take out and connector of the instrument panel wire harness. Panel lamps dimmer controlled illumination lamps integral to the circuit board within the switch provide back lighting for visibility at night, but these lamps are not serviceable.
OPERATION
The ICS module is the user interface for many functions and features in the vehicle.
The following features can be accessed through the ICS module:
- Mute
- Heated seats, if equipped
- Vented/Cooled Seats, if equipped
- Heated Steering Wheel, if equipped
- Screen OFF
- Radio controls
- Defroster controls
- Climate controls
The ICS module allows manual control of multiple vehicle systems. The ICS module communicates on the Controller Area Network - Interior High Speed (CAN-IHS) data bus and controls all connected vehicle systems via CAN messages.
The ICS module receives fused B(+) from a fuse in the Interior Power Distribution Center (IPDC) and ground through a connection at the body sheet metal.
The individual controls located in the ICS module cannot be adjusted or repaired. If any control on the ICS module or control indicator lamp is inoperative or damaged, the entire ICS module must be replaced. Refer to MODULE, INTEGRATED CENTER STACK (ICSM), REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
The individual controls located in the radio touchscreen cannot be adjusted or repaired. If a radio touchscreen control or control indicator lamp is inoperative or damaged, the entire radio or radio Display Screen Module (DSM) must be replaced, as equipped Refer to RADIO, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION or Refer to MODULE, DISPLAY SCREEN (DSM), REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
Prior to replacing an ICS module, check for any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) related to the affected system, and run any related calibration procedures to verify that the concern is not a calibration issue. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
