TCM Programming

NOTE:
A new Transmission Control Module (TCM) is supplied with generic software. When replacing a TCM, it must be programmed with vehicle specific software.
NOTE:
Failure to properly program the TCM will cause DTC(s) to be set.
- The following conditions must be met during the TCM programming procedure:
- Battery must be maintained between 10 and 16 volts. Connect a battery charger if necessary.
- Ambient temperature must be between 0°C (32°F) and 60°C (140°F).
- Gear selector must be in PARK.
- With the scan tool and Dealer Connect, download the appropriate TCM flash file to the scan tool.
- Turn the ignition ON.
- Following the menu on the scan tool, program the TCM.
- Perform the TCM ADAPTATION procedure. Refer to MODULE, TRANSMISSION CONTROL (TCM), MODULE PROGRAMMING .
- Perform the TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST - 8HP50/850RE or TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST - 8HP75 .
