Left Hand Drive: Installation

- If BCM bracket was removed, position the BCM bracket (2) to the vehicle and install and securely tighten the fasteners (1) that retain the BCM bracket (2).
- Connect the wire harness connectors (1) to the back of the BCM.
- Position and secure the BCM to the BCM mounting bracket.
- Connect the wire harness connectors (1) to the front of the BCM.
- Install the DLC connector (1a).
- Position the brackets (1d) to the instrument panel carrier. Install and securely tighten the bracket fasteners (1b and 1c).
- Install the steering column opening cover. Refer to COVER, STEERING COLUMN OPENING, INSTALLATION .
- Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector.
- If this Electronic Control Unit (ECU) is being replaced with a new unit, a diagnostic scan tool MUST be used to determine if alignment of the PROXI configuration data into the new ECU is needed. If PROXI alignment is needed, follow the routine outlined in the diagnostic scan tool for PROXI Configuration Alignment under the Body Control Module (BCM) Miscellaneous Functions menu.
- Perform BCM programming. Refer to MODULE, BODY CONTROL (BCM), MODULE PROGRAMMING .
