Module, Security Gateway (SGM): Removal

NOTE:

If this Electronic Control Unit (ECU) is being replaced with a new unit, use a diagnostic scan tool to perform the Flash Programming Procedure (if available). 

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the driver Knee AirBag (KAB). Refer to AIR BAG, KNEE BLOCKER, REMOVAL .

  3. Disconnect the Security Gateway Module (SGW) wire harness connectors (2a).
  4. Remove the bolts (1a) from the SGW (1b).
  5. Remove the SGW from the vehicle.
