Brake System Control Module (BSCM)

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
BRAKE SYSTEM CONTROL MODULE (BSCM)

Refer to COMPONENT INDEX .

The BSCM is an integral controller of the ACC with Stop and Go system. Most performance functions for this system route through or start from the BSCM.

The BSCM incorporates the EPB module, the ESC module and the Electronic Stability Protection (ESP) system and uses all of these modules and systems to help facilitate ACC with Stop and Go operation.

Before honoring ACC requests, a set of plausibility checks are performed by the BSCM. The plausibility checks involve monitoring requests from the CADM and monitoring BSCM operation. For the CADM, the BSCM serves as a redundancy for the one processor design of the CADM.

The BSCM controls brake lamp activation during ACC braking.

The BSCM sends ACC gear requests to the TCM. The contents of the signal specify the maximum suggested gear requested by the ACC system.
