Manifold, Coolant: Removal

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the engine cover. Refer to COVER, ENGINE, REMOVAL .
  3. Drain the cooling system. Refer to DRAINING  .
  4. Disconnect the upstream and down stream oxygen sensor wire harness connector.

  5. Remove the six bolts (1) and the turbocharger heat shield (2).

  6. Disconnect the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor wire harness connector (1).

  7. Remove the upper radiator hose (1) from the thermostat housing (2).
  8. Remove the coolant hose (3) from the thermostat housing (2).

  9. Remove the coolant hose (2) from the coolant manifold (1).

  10. Remove the turbocharger heat shield (2) bolts (1, 3).

  11. Remove the lower coolant manifold (1) bolt (2).

  12. Remove the bolts (1) and the coolant manifold (2).
