Universal Transmitter: Operation

The universal HomeLink® transmitter or Universal Garage Door Opener/UGDO operates on a fused battery feed so the unit will remain functional, regardless of the ignition switch position. The Body Control Module (BCM) provides a security ground and will disable the system any time the vehicle security alarm is armed. For more information on the features, programming procedures and operation of the HomeLink® transceiver, refer to the owners manual.

The hardwired input circuits for the universal transmitter may be diagnosed using conventional diagnostic tools and procedures. Refer to the appropriate wiring information. The Radio Frequency (RF) signal strength of the universal transmitter may also be tested. Refer to DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING .
