Removal And Installation: Installation

WARNING:

Do not attempt to move or reposition the sunroof glass panel, the sunshade or the drive cables with the sunroof or sunshade motor and module unit removed. Damage to the vehicle, to the sunroof or personal injuries may result.

WARNING:

The Sunroof Initialization and Obstacle Detection Calibration procedure must be completed any time a sunroof or sunshade motor and module unit is replaced with a new component or existing motor is removed and re-installed onto sunroof module. Failure to perform these procedures may result in damage to the vehicle, to the sunroof, to the sunshade or in serious or fatal injuries.

SUNROOF GLASS MOTOR 

  1. Position the sunroof glass motor (2) to the sunroof frame.
  2. Install and tighten the fasteners (3) that secure the motor to the sunroof frame. Tighten the fasteners to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  3. Connect the sunroof wire harness connector (1) to the sunroof glass motor (2).
  4. Reinstall the headliner to the inner roof panel. Refer to HEADLINER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  5. Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector to the negative battery cable.
  6. Perform the Sunroof Initialization and Obstacle Detection Calibration. Refer to MOTOR, SUNROOF, STANDARD PROCEDURE .

SUNSHADE MOTOR

  1. Position the sunshade motor (2) to the sunroof frame.
  2. Install and tighten the fasteners (3) that secure the motor to the sunroof frame. Tighten to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  3. Connect the sunroof wire harness connector (1) to the sunshade motor (2).
  4. Install the headliner to the inner roof panel. Refer to HEADLINER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  5. Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector to the negative battery cable.
  6. Perform the Sunroof Initialization and Obstacle Detection Calibration. Refer to MOTOR, SUNROOF, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
