Removal And Installation: Removal

WARNING:
Do not attempt to move or reposition the sunroof glass panel, the sunshade or the drive cables with the sunroof or sunshade motor and module unit removed. Damage to the vehicle, to the sunroof or personal injuries may result.
WARNING:
The Sunroof Initialization and Obstacle Detection Calibration procedure must be completed any time a sunroof or sunshade motor and module unit is replaced with a new component or existing motor is removed and re-installed onto sunroof module. Failure to perform these procedures may result in damage to the vehicle, to the sunroof, to the sunshade or in serious or fatal injuries.
SUNROOF GLASS MOTOR
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
- Lower the headliner from the inner roof panel. Refer to HEADLINER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

- Disconnect the sunroof wire harness connector (1) from the sunroof glass motor (2).
- Remove the fasteners (3) that secure the sunroof glass motor to the sunroof frame.
- Remove the sunroof glass motor (2) from the vehicle.
SUNSHADE MOTOR
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
- Lower the headliner from the inner roof panel. Refer to HEADLINER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

- Disconnect the sunroof wire harness connector (1) from the sunshade motor (2).
- Remove the fasteners (3) that secure the sunshade motor to the sunroof frame.
- Remove the sunshade motor (2) from the vehicle.
