Floor Shift
The E-Shifter is a floor mounted device with an integrated Electronic Shift Module (ESM) which uses CAN messaging to communicate driver requests for transmission gear changes. The shifter also has an integrated Brake Transmission Shifter/Ignition Interlock (BTSI) solenoid. The solenoid is integrated into the shifter assembly, if diagnosis and testing indicates the solenoid requires replacement, the shifter will need to be replaced.
There are no serviceable components in the shifter. Any attempt to disassemble the shifter will cause a loss of calibration between the mechanical and electrical components that can be corrected only by replacing the shifter assembly.
