3.0L Diesel

  1. Position the generator (4) to the engine and install the upper generator bolt (1), stud (3) and nut (2). Tighten stud (3) to 12 N.m (106 in. lbs.).
  2. Install the lower generator bolts (5) finger tight:
    • Tighten bolts to 28 N.m (21 ft. lbs).
    • Tighten nut to 28 N.m (21 ft. lbs).
  3. Install the Ground wire on the lower mounting stud (5) and install the ground wire mounting nut finger tight and tighten to 24 N.m (212 in. lbs.).
  4. Install the B+ cable and nut to the generator. Tighten nut to 17 N.m (150 in. lbs.).
  5. Install the protective cover for the B+ cable.
  6. Connect the field generator connector.
  7. Install the nut and the ground cable from the generator.
  8. Install the transmission line bracket to the generator.
  9. Install the serpentine belt. Refer to BELT, SERPENTINE, INSTALLATION .
  10. Install the front skid plate. Refer to INSTALLATION .
  11. Connect the negative battery cable.
