NOTE:
If this Electronic Control Unit (ECU) is being replaced with a new unit, a diagnostic scan tool MUST be used to align the PROXI configuration data into the new ECU. Follow the routine outlined in the diagnostic scan tool for PROXI Configuration Alignment under Body Control Module (BCM) Miscellaneous Functions menu.
NOTE:
When replacing the DriveTrain Control Module (DTCM), use the diagnostic scan tool to go to the menu "various functions" and follow the steps for the "replacement unit" routine.
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
- Remove the retainer (1) and reposition the right side floor cover.
- Remove the protection cover (1).
- Disconnect the wire harness connector (1) from the DTCM.
- Remove the fastener and remove the ground cable end (2).
- Remove the fasteners (3) and remove the DTCM and cover (4).
