Removal And Installation: Gas: Removal

NOTE:
If this Electronic Control Unit (ECU) is being replaced with a new unit, a diagnostic scan tool MUST be used to align the PROXI configuration data into the new ECU. Follow the routine outlined in the diagnostic scan tool for PROXI Configuration Alignment under Body Control Module (BCM) Miscellaneous Functions menu.
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
- Remove the engine cover. Refer to COVER, ENGINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

- Disconnect the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) wire harness connectors (1).
- Remove the fastener (1) and disconnect the ground wire (if equipped).
- Remove the PCM fasteners (2) and then remove the PCM from the vehicle.
