Removal And Installation: 948TE: Removal

NOTE:
If this Electronic Control Unit (ECU) is being replaced with a new unit, a diagnostic scan tool MUST be used to align the PROXI configuration data into the new ECU. Follow the routine outlined in the diagnostic scan tool for PROXI Configuration Alignment under Body Control Module (BCM) Miscellaneous Functions menu.
- Disconnect and isolate negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
- Remove the engine cover. Refer to COVER, ENGINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Remove the battery tray. Refer to TRAY, BATTERY, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Remove the left front wheel and tire assembly. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

- Remove the lower Transmission Control Module (TCM) mounting fasteners (1).
- Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
- Disconnect the TCM wire harness connector (1).
- Remove the upper TCM mounting fasteners (1a).
- Remove the TCM (1b) from the vehicle.
