Removal And Installation: F21-250: Removal

NOTE:
If this Electronic Control Unit (ECU) is being replaced with a new unit, a diagnostic scan tool MUST be used to align the PROXI configuration data into the new ECU. Follow the routine outlined in the diagnostic scan tool for PROXI Configuration Alignment under Body Control Module (BCM) Miscellaneous Functions menu.
- Disconnect and isolate negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
- Remove the engine cover. Refer to COVER, ENGINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Remove the battery tray. Refer to TRAY, BATTERY, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

- Push down on the shifter cable end. While maintaining downward pressure on the shifter cable end, roll the cable off of the manual lever.
- Remove the TCM harness connector (1) from the TCM (2).
- Remove the fasteners (3) securing the TCM to the transmission and remove the TCM from the vehicle.
- If necessary, remove the shift lever (4).
- Retain the position of the TCM markings (1).NOTE:
Do not turn the shaft more than 60 degrees from the marking, otherwise damage may occur.
